This is such a little slice of heaven in Mount Pleasant. I’ve recently started working in the area and discovered the Federal. Their coffee is excellent and I think they have the best avocado toast in the city. The staff is always so kind and it’s just a really chill, comfy vibe. Highly recommend! Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

A charming neighbourhood gem with so much character. The cozy, vintage atmosphere makes you want to slow down and stay a little longer. The brunch was fresh, well executed, and made with quality ingredients without trying too hard. The coffee was excellent, and the staff were genuinely warm and welcoming. It’s the kind of place that feels local rather than touristy, and that’s exactly its charm. Definitely one of Vancouver’s most memorable brunch spots. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

From the outside, the cafe is simply captivating, with its quaint structure covered in lush green vines, giving it a unique and inviting charm. It’s the kind of place that stands out, blending perfectly with its surroundings and creating a cozy, natural atmosphere that draws you in. Inside, we found a great selection of comfort food. The tomato soup and sourdough were particularly memorable—rich, fresh, and absolutely delicious. They truly capture the homey feel of the place. Although the iced Americano was fairly average, the overall experience made up for it. The Federal Store is an ideal spot to unwind, enjoy a casual meal, and have a relaxed chat with friends. If you’re looking for a cozy, plant-filled cafe with a local vibe, this is the place to go.
