It was New Years Eve and we had managed to get a last minute deal for a couple of nights at the Crewe Hotel and Spa. Howeverz because it was New Years Eve, their restaurant was closed due to hosting a masquerade so we decided to get a takeaway. Fresco looked like it had decent reviews so we placed an order with them. Order placed and the update said 45 minutes for delivery. Now I'm fully aware that it's New Years Eve and things may be slower which I totally accept, but after called several times the food eventually arrived almost 2 hours later! If delivery was going to take so long I'd like to have known that prior to placing the order as I might gone and collected or even looked elsewhere. So needless to say I wasn't happy at this point. When the food arrived it wasn't cold but really not as hot as it should have been but frankly, we were beyond starving and just needed food. The cheese burger was pretty horrendous and definitely wouldn't recommend at all. The margarita pizza was actually really quite delicious and would recommend, but just hotter. My partner ordered th carbonara and she said that was delicious too, but she wasn't happy with the garlic bread, as it was a little bland. So very mixed feelings overall. As I said, I accept things may take a little longer being New Years Eve, but 2 hours from ordering to delivery was unacceptable. I called several times to be told it's waiting to be collected, it's on its way, a d the driver telling me he outside when he wasn't (went to wrong place). Not sure I would order again. I ordered at 7.30, it was supposed to be delivered at 8.30, which is fair enough it’s Friday night and the food is fresh. But by 21:00 I rang and the woman on the end of phone was so rude. I felt sorry for the driver he was so apologetic. The food is great if you want to wait an hour and a half ‍ Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £20–30 Food: 5 Service: 1
