If you ever find yourself in Filey and in need of a proper feed (the kind that makes you question why you ever bother with sad, flimsy sandwiches elsewhere), do yourself a favour and head to Frothies. Their chunky doorstep bacon and sausage sandwiches are not messing about — we’re talking thick, glorious slabs of bread that could probably double as building materials, stuffed generously enough to make you pause mid-bite and just appreciate life for a second. It’s the sort of sandwich that requires a strategy and maybe a few extra napkins. And the coffee? Spot on. Rich, smooth, and exactly what you need to wash down that masterpiece without overshadowing it. No pretentious nonsense, just really good coffee done right. The atmosphere is warm and relaxed, the kind of place you walk into and instantly feel like a regular (even if it’s your first visit). The staff are genuinely friendly too — not the forced kind of friendly, but the “we actually like people” kind, which makes all the difference. Great food, great coffee, great people. We visited as it was one of the few places open out of season. The menu is limited to sandwiches, baguettes, panini's and salads. We had a salad, and a sandwich with fries. The food was very good, and reasonably priced. The interior is a bit tired but clean, and the service is good. The menu could do with a bit more imagination, but if you want something to eat at a reasonable price, you could do a lot worse.
