So decided on a cheeky midweek nibble, but more importantly, I was bringing a fresh face with me.... Not only fresh to Garbutts but fresh to Hull, Humberside and generally anything over this side north and south of the Humber... Good impression was important as would like her to visit the area again rather than run like her heels are on fire... I had raved at the quality of choice for Gluten free diets and how helpful Garbutts are. So putting my money were my mouth was, two eclectic ladies (I use the term loosely as I ain't a lady really) entered and got the cheeky nook table allowing fab people watching (we only spot the nice bits like funky outfits etc). So then to the menu. , like a proud parent I announced they had a good choice for gluten free...and they do, but, without realising it was a no potatoes and no white rice kinda diet as well.... On comes my panic and fear of failure... But no...white light and all that jazz, the excellent peeps at Garbutts saved the day... Green beans and gluten free bread as croutons for the beef stroganoff! Oh yesssss, not only a feast for the eyes but a dance on the taste buds... Not all heros wear capes... The cherry on the top was the gluten free straws!!!! IYKYK....if you don't, just ask as they will tell all . Thank you for a fabulous night with amazing food and even better peeps...I do mean staff, and yes... A new friendship was born and this good lady would be happy to come back again... Just had the best breakfast in ages. Had steak and eggs and American pancakes with maple syrup and bacon. Very Affordable, quick and super tasty. Price per person: £10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Vegetarian offerings: Clearly labeled vegetarian dishes

My husband brought her here for a bite to eat yesterday, we had Ciabatta sarnies Mine was steak and caramelised onion, with the most beautiful salad (must try) and chips, husbands (which i wanted i too shared) was Cajun chicken, with taziki, peppers and some salsa i believe! Salad dressing is something from the gods. I don't often leave somewhere blown away! The place was immaculate, staff very friendly with an atmosphere not typically known in Hull most places. No pictures unfortunately as it was 0.5 seconds from the plate to my mouth. Thanks guys.
