Stayed here for two nights recently whilst visiting friends. Staff friendly upon check in and shown to room at around 10.30pm. Awoke at around 6am with banging, crashing and slamming doors, and the room is on a main 40mph road with HGVs herding past all night and the lights from vehicles constantly lighting up the room. Upon daylight I could see how grubby the room was, the shower and bathroom mouldy and dusty, the carpets and walls stained with all sorts of things. It needs a good deep clean. The communal areas to the rooms are very dirty, scruffy and grubby. The main shower head didn’t work properly and the water poured from the top of the shower instead of through the spray head. Ceiling full of mould and shower corners and edges caked in filth. The window was absolutely filthy covered in dust and dirt. ( see pictures) My room wasn’t cleaned and restocked by the time I returned late the second night .. I went to the bar to refill the water bottles and was going to mention the state of the room and the fact it hadn’t been cleaned .. but the bar was full of staff that had just finished their shift and I felt uncomfortable to being this up in that moment. The top of the refillable water bottle was covered in mould and dirt. Next morning again awoken with banging doors, thundering trucks … Completely over priced at £130 per night, terrible sleep, dirty and needs a deep clean.

We stopped in at The George Inn and had a brilliant experience. Between the three of us we ordered the hanging kebab lamb kofta with truffle fries and Korean cauliflower, plus the steak frites – and it was bloody lovely! The food was cooked beautifully and full of flavour. The staff were polite and attentive, and the service was efficient – we were in and out within the hour without ever feeling rushed. A great spot with quality food and friendly service – highly recommend!
