Myself and two colleagues were caught up in some railway disruption, and found Giovannis just along from Crewe Station. All very last minute, but the wonderful staff were able to give us a table. The service was excellent. Staff provided recommendations to us and described all of the specials to us clearly. Drinks were ordered, and my two colleagues certainly enjoyed the cocktails they had ordered, and the wine I ordered was lovely. I had ordered the chicken and ndjula pasta, which was simply outstanding. I've eaten in Italian restaurants across the UK and this was one of the best I've tasted. My colleagues were also delighted with their own choices of food. Empty plates back to the kitchen is always a good sign!! Puddings were ordered too and these were a little slice of heaven on a plate too. The service continued to be of an excellent standard, and not pushy at all. Staff were polite, friendly and welcoming. If you've read this far, you really should just contact the restaurant and book a table. I very much doubt you will be disappointed. Thank you Giovannis, for turning a bleak day of travel disruption, into a lovely memory and impression. Absolutely disgusted with the restaurant, I booked a table for 3 people at 6pm, we ordered a simple meal, garlic mushrooms, pizza, garlic bread and lasagne, the starter arrived after 45 minutes and after an hour and a half there was still no sign of the main course .... Uber Eats and others in the restaurant (who arrived after us) were served first. We asked politely where our food to be told it was going to be 2 minutes, it wasn't and we asked again and were told that the Manager would come and speak to us, we were ignored for 15 minutes and asked the waitress where the Manager was, it turns out the Manager wasn't working and we were asked if we would like to speak to the next person in charge, the Chef, aka petulant child, who approached us with his hands in his pockets, we explained why we were unhappy ... waiting for 2 hours for our meal and he told us to F**k off and walked away. My friend eventually spoke to the Manager who seemed to find the whole thing amusing. The poor waiting on staff who take the brunt of the customers frustrations were clearly upset. I would avoid if you're hoping to be fed within a reasonable timeframe, the waiting on staff try and help as much as possible, but otherwise my experience was dreadful and the chef should be severely reprimanded, but I'm sure he wont' be, this restaurant clearly needs to rethink its USP's ......
