Good food. But ALWAYS let down by getting reheated chips 90% of the time. Went in at 4:45PM. You’re rolling the dice at getting fresh. I ask if they are reheated to be told they are fresh. So I order. Then I’m always given the horrible brown crispy reheated chips from the afternoon or previous day. I’ve been a chef for 13 years. It’s very easy to tell if a chip has been fried twice. When they are bought pre cooked in a hand basket from out the back and thrown in the hot holding draw. You will immediately know they are reheated. It’s a shame really because all the other food is amazing. Let down by lying to the customers that pay the bills. Happened to many times to not leave a review. Food: 3 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3

First time using this Chinese in Lane End, ordered a large order for 7 family members at lunch time for collection yesterday, Thursday 10th April at 6pm. Arrived 10 mins early, food all really hot, packed in a box for easy transportation to our house a 15 minute drive away and food still really hot on arrival. Thank you very much to you all at Gourmet Kitchen, everyone enjoyed the food immensely and said we’d definitely enjoy many more takeaways in the future! Food: 5 Service: 5

Very hit and miss. Often the food here is good, and we have been regulars for many years. However, I was really disappointed in our takeaway yesterday. Some of the food had obviously been re-heated, as it was old, stale and crispy. The food wasn't very warm, and there was a hair in another dish. A shame, as in future I'm going to go to our other local Chinese instead, so they've lost my regular custom. It's just not on to serve old food that's been re-heated.
