I was in grays today it was a great place I would recommend going there to anyone the staff are brilliant and the food is excellent

I visited for the first time yesterday in the afternoon. I have recently moved to Strabane. Stepping inside Gray's Tea Rooms I felt like I had stepped back in time into the Dickensian period. I originally only felt like coffee or tea with a scone but decided to have lunch as I was enjoying the environment. I ordered a baked potato with chicken curry. Unfortunately the food did not live up to my expecrations. While the potato was good, the curry was poor and I wouldn't order that again. I waited for ages for someone to clear my table despite a few waitresses passing by and noticing that I was finished. Im fairness, it was busy while I was there. But the most disappointing part of my experience there was when I asked a young waitress if I could have their dessert menu and what teas they had on offer. I was abruptly told that their desserts was just what was on display at the counter and that they had 2 types of teas. There was no effort made in the part of the waitress to find out for me, instead I was supposed to leave my seat and order from the counter. I found the customer service lacking for this reason and I did not order dessert or tea. I would say that while the environment is lovely, customer service is poor and the food is an acquired taste. I am not sure if I will be back .
