This pub was my village local over 30 years ago and it’s had good times and it’s had bad times and bad since. Marsden seem to have a winning formula now, or more likely a skilled manager who can hire well. We have stayed here several times and the rooms are nice, what you would expect from a small Inn. Today (July 6) we returned for a quick pint and fish and chips, the chef (Lottie) killed it, perfectly cooked thick piece of haddock, real mushy peas, homemade tartare sauce. The flakes of malvern salt on the fish showed just how detailed and attention to flavor chef is. Well done Green Dragon, back in the top tier of gastro pubs in the villages. Beers good too. Price per person: £20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Lovely sunny day which helped with the review. We were able to use the beer garden. Myself, my mum and daughter all had dinner and then played cards in the sunshine outside with drinks and coffee. Lovely for my mum that can't walk much. Everything really pleasant. Staff excellent, food delicious. Even the desserts were of excellent quality and choice. We called on a Tuesday on this occasion and it was less busy of course than the usual Sunday's that I visit. Lovely treat for my mum, thank you Green Dragon :) Price per person: £90–100

It was our first visit. The starter was delicious and quite substantial, I had garlic breaded mushrooms and my husband had cauliflower in bbq batter. The main course was OK, chicken strips with fries. I would have considered the main course better if the starter hadn't been so large and so delicious . For dessert I had the melted chocolate pudding with ice cream, which like the starter was large and delicious. For a lunchtime it was quite busy and had a friendly atmosphere. The bar staff were very friendly and very helpful . Price per person: £20–30
