Very disappointing indeed. Arrived on a Sunday around 6pm to find it extremely quiet. I had expected it to busy, so should have realised this was a clue. The decor is strange - it suggests a kind of responsible retailer with the way they advertise they are organic, but then the venue is stacked with single use, Ikea plastic plants that I had myself about 15 years ago (wouldn’t touch now). I asked for a beyond meat burger which was a rather pricey item and expected something special - but got exactly that (see picture) - a standard patty in a bun with a lettuce leaf and a slice of tomato. No fries or any other garnish. Taste was rather bland. Also ordered a side of olives and got green bullets that no man or woman could eat! Sent them back but still got charged for them. The milkshakes at £7.50 a throw were ridiculous. No ice cream in the strawberry one and loaded with cream and sauce to the point there was hardly any shake. The green one was simply something you could buy in a supermarket. The staff were friendly enough but not attentive given the paucity of customers. I don’t think it’s wise to let them use their mobile phones on the floor as it leads to a lot of selfie taking and distraction away from the customer. I did leave the young lady that served us a tip because the young people in our country get such a tough time but really object to paying £50+ on what should have been a pleasant light meal and experience. Won’t be back. Love Gro Coffee. Can be incredibly busy inside at different times of the day as it is very popular. Food portions are HUGE. However, all tastes divine. Lovely baked goods on the counter also available from strawberry tarts to gingerbread. Ample shared parking area outside of Gro. Place is dog friendly. Meal type: Brunch Price per person: £10–20
