HS & Co is a nice, cosy restaurant to dine in not far from Stratford Station. Atmosphere is good with music playing in the background that's audible but not invasive of conversation. Due to the hot weather, the manager kindly brought a fan to help with cooling. +1 on customer service. The rest of the service went generally well. We tested the young waiter with our orders by adding extras on top of what was set on the menu and although there was a hiccup or too, with a gentle reminder, the waiter recovered greatly. When it came to the bill, it was split per person as well as having the deposit taking off too. The Waiter was frazzled at first but took on the challenge and succeeded (well done to him). Food was nice in terms of taste and portion size (overall) with the only caveat being the timings between courses. Some starters were served with mains whilst some mains were served very quickly after starters (within 10 minutes). This can be a sticky issue as some like to have their starter with their main whilst others. In my opinion, this should be asked by the server to avoid any confusion. On the contrary when I ordered the ice cream, it says three scoops. Instead, I received four, which was nice. However the scoops were on the small side and would equate to two standard scoops. Overall, I would be happy to come back and dine at HS & Co again.
