Demanded picture ID for me to take my 15 year old daughter to see a 15 rated film: the Odyssey. The oldest work of literature in western civilisation, and I’m fighting censors and rule crazy cinema staff. Go to another cinema where staff have some perspective.

Screen 6 was unbearably hot so we had to leave before the film ended. This was despite the movie starting at 8pm and it not being that hot of a day. It’s immoral for a business to operate like this. Ridiculous! We won’t be returning!

I tried to get in touch with Hackney Picturehouse and had a disappointing experience with communication. I followed up multiple times by phone and was told I would receive a response, but I didn’t hear anything back. I also reached out by email and didn’t receive a reply (this isn’t the first time I’ve experienced this). I understand things can get busy, but clearer communication and follow-up would really improve the experience.
