A family member needed to be in the area before catching a train from Exeter St David's. There were a choice of local pubs serving food in the area but some were closed on a Monday or didn't have many vegetarian options on the menu. Fortunately, not the case with the Halfmoon Inn. We didn't book but it was Monday at 5:30pm. We were quickly shown to a table and we ordered drinks. We cheekily asked if the server would fill our water bottles with tap water for our journeys home, which she did without trouble. My fellow guest opted for the vegetarian curry with rice, poppadoms, an onion bhaji and mini naan breads (extra). I had the Hunter's Chicken, which came with fries, salad and coleslaw. The food was served promptly and it was plentiful. What a great find so close to the M5. No more difficult to get to than Exeter Services but home cooked food and freshly cooked. We shall definitely be adding this one to our list of places to eat out when travelling to or through Exeter.

Well where do I start. AMAZING!!! We booked a local cottage and decided to have a meal at the Half Moon Inn and so glad we did. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel very welcome from staff and local residents. It is a lovely Inn which is beautifully decorated throughout. The staff are wonderful, chatty and can not help you enough. Then there is the food!!! This place will not disappoint. There were 6 of us eating and everyone enjoyed it throughly. The portions are very generous and you can tell everything is prepared and cooked with pride. The flavours are on a another level and every mouthful is a joy!! The staff are so helpful and a pleasure. We can not say a bad word and would recommend for families and general get togethers.
