I’ve been eating at this shop occasionally since I was in primary school, I’m not early 30’s and can say this place is going downhill fast. They charged £16 for large chips, a saveloy and a large cod - the portion of chips was ok, they didn’t include the saveloy so we had to go back for it with a hungry child screaming because she wanted to eat. The batter of the fish was tasteless and undercooked, once you broke the surface it was just a wet batter mix and very oily. The girl who served me also tried to give me a portion of small chips despite me paying the guy for a large and I think they intentionally dork include the saveloy because there was ok apology or even gesture of goodwill Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £10–20 Food: 2 Service: 1

I always bought my fish and chips from here as they were the best around the town. Even after returning from the sea side trip I would purchase the fish and chips from them rather than the sea side as I didn't trust any other shops. Now since it's been taken over by someone new it's quality is really gone down. Their fish is soaked in oil. It's soo oily that it made me sick eating it. I had to use few sheets of kitchen towel to get the excess oil out of it. The fish size is small compared to what it used to be but ofcoz the prices are gone up. Sorry, It's very dissapointing for me to say that I won't be purchasing from happy fish bar again. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £20–30 Food: 2 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4
