Without a doubt, this is my favourite Chinese restaurant in Manchester. I’ve been here many times over the years, and I honestly haven’t had a single dish that I didn’t enjoy. Everything is packed with deep, authentic flavour and cooked exceptionally well. The absolute star of the menu is the duck. If you’re ordering it, get it on the bone. Trust me. It has so much more flavour and is a completely different experience. They also have a beef dish that’s served on a sizzling hot plate at your table. OMG… it’s incredible. One of the best beef dishes I’ve ever had. The monkfish in bean sauce is another favourite of mine, and the king prawn fried rice is surprisingly delicate while still being rich in flavour. The salt and pepper squid is also outstanding. One thing I will mention is that, on occasion, I’ve felt a little rushed by the staff when ordering. It’s never stopped me from coming back because the food is just that good, but slowing things down a little would make the experience even better. What I love most about this place is that it feels like a proper classic Chinese restaurant from the 90s. It focuses on what really matters: incredible food. It doesn’t rely on trendy décor or Instagram aesthetics to impress people. Instead, it lets the quality of the cooking do all the talking. Queues can get quite long, especially at peak times, but they’re absolutely worth the wait. Once you’ve eaten here, you’ll understand exactly why people are happy to queue. The food really is that good. If you’re in Manchester, hungry, and looking for authentic Chinese food with bold flavours, generous portions, and dishes you’ll remember long after you’ve finished eating, this is the place to go. I recommend it without hesitation. Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5 Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £30–40 Recommendation for vegetarians: Not sure Vegetarian offerings: Not sure Parking space: Difficult to find parking Kid-friendliness: Yes. It’s family friendly and I’ve often seen families with children dining here. The atmosphere is relaxed and suitable for all ages. Wheelchair accessibility: There are around three steps at the entrance, so it’s not fully step-free. I think wheelchair access may be possible with assistance, but the restaurant is quite compact inside, so manoeuvring could be difficult.

We recently visited Happy Seasons in Manchester's Chinatown, and overall, we had a good experience. The restaurant was very busy, which is always a good sign, and the food was tasty, fresh, and full of flavour. The service was efficient despite how packed the restaurant was. The only downside was the pricing. While the food was enjoyable, we felt it was quite expensive compared to other Chinese restaurants in Chinatown that offer similar quality and portion sizes. Because of that, we didn't feel it offered the best value for money. That said, if you're looking for good food in a lively atmosphere, Happy Seasons is still worth a visit. Just be prepared to pay a little more than you might elsewhere. Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 3

Happy Seasons Restaurant is a great place for annice chinese dinner. My first visit was a few years ago and i'm always coming back- the food is delicious, freshly prepared and tasty. The service staff is friendly and helpful, the atmosphere is a bit unique- but you're here for the food and not the view. I can highly recommend this place, it's one of the best "go-to-places" in Manchester.
