Just left The Hardware Cafe about 20 minutes ago, and I’m still kinda thinking about how surprisingly nice the whole experience was. I only stopped in because I needed a break and figured a coffee would wake me up, but it ended up being one of those stops where everything just feels easy. I got a regular coffee and some biscuits — nothing fancy at all — but both were actually really good. The coffee tasted fresh, not bitter or burnt like some places, and the biscuits were warm and sort of crumbly in the best way. I wasn’t expecting much, but they were honestly perfect for a quick snack. The vibe inside is really laid-back. It’s the kind of place where you walk in and immediately feel comfortable without even thinking about it. A few people were sitting around chatting, someone was working on a laptop in the corner, but it never felt crowded or noisy. The staff were friendly in a natural way — not that overly rehearsed customer service thing — just normal, nice people who make you feel welcome without hovering. I ended up staying longer than I planned, just kinda zoning out with my coffee and enjoying the quiet. It’s rare to find a cafe that feels relaxed without feeling dull, but this one gets it right. I wasn’t planning on making this a regular stop, but honestly, after today, I probably will. If you just want a good coffee, something small to eat, and a genuinely comfortable place to chill for a bit, this place is definitely worth checking out Meal type: Breakfast Price per person: £1–10 Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4 Vegetarian offerings: Large vegetarian selection Vegetarian options: n
