Cracking cod and chips. Crunchy batter, soft moist fish and crispy chips. 4 stars because the large chips would be a regular in most chippys. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £10–20 Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4

Absolutely awful chip shop. Useless staff who it appears couldn't organise a thing. I went in to order just a regular haddock on its own with nothing else, paid immediately, and after 20 mins I enquired what was going on because I'd been watching a dozen just eat orders come and go with them super busy and still no sign of mine. Then they realised they hadn't even started it yet! I said keep the money and walked out to cook something at home! Awful customer experience! It seems their only priority was to ensure they service the JustEat orders which makes no sense at all. JustEat customers are remote, not visiting the store and they are losing 40% in revenue for every order. As opposed to looking after in store, repeat customers, right in front of them, whom they take 100% of the money from! Idiots! I will never be back, nor order from Harlees ever again if this is the sort of service this chain believes is ok to serve to it's customers (and it appears I'm not alone!) This Fish&Chips place saved my life once! When I was just a poor little german boy I went on a one week exchange to the greater Bournemouth area. While there me and 3 friends were being severely underfed by our cruel and devilish host family! One evening as the 4 of us went out in this cold and unknown country driven by our scorching hunger we found a lovely oasis of peace and prosperity in the middle of this frosty landscape. Like angels the chefs descended in front of us and cooked the MOST PERFECT AND AMAZING FISH that has ever graced the tip of my tongue! It tasted as though our lives had been rejuvenated and we once again were filled with energy that we had only every experienced at home in the mighty city of Heidelberg. Only thanks to this experience did we manage to survive the rest of the week and make it back to Germany without starving at the hands of the evil host family. Even to this day 5 years after the events transpired I will never forget the kindness in the eyes of the man who sold us that fish! Long live Harlees Corfe Mullen!
