Went to Harry's this past Saturday and was refused entry because my trousers had a drawstring. I was wearing a polo T-shirt, brown suede boots, and a pair of Mango summer trousers. They were proper trousers with a button and zip, not joggers, but apparently the drawstring alone meant they didn't meet the dress code. I explained this to the bouncer with the long beard and even showed him the button, but he refused to listen. If it's the venue's policy, then fair enough. Rules are rules. What I didn't appreciate was how dismissive and rude he was about it. At nearly 25°C what exactly are people supposed to wear? I also noticed other people being allowed in wearing shorts, which made the decision seem even more bizarre. A lot of high street brands now make tailored cotton summer trousers with drawstrings because they're more comfortable and provide a better fit. That's modern fashion, and it's hardly my fault that many brands design them this way. We ended up going to Ovation around the corner wearing the exact same outfit and got in without a single question. Maybe it's time to update the dress code to reflect current fashion trends. And while you're at it, a little courtesy from the door staff wouldn't hurt. You're not doing customers a favour by letting them in. We're the ones choosing to spend our money at your venue. A waitress came around with shots and asked what we wanted. I ordered two jaegars, for my wife and I. She took my payment and then asked my wife specifically if she wanted that drink or something else. Absolute green flag. Good on you. Will return. Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
