I recently visited Hollywood Bowl Rochester and overall it was a really enjoyable experience for the whole family. The location itself is excellent, set within Medway Valley Leisure Park with plenty going on around it, and from the moment you walk in, the place has a really good atmosphere. First impressions were very positive. The venue was clean, tidy and well looked after throughout. The bowling lanes were in good condition, the seating areas were comfortable, and even though it was busy, it still felt organised rather than chaotic. That makes a huge difference when you’re taking children out for the evening. The bowling itself is definitely on the expensive side nowadays, especially if you’re paying for multiple games, food and arcade credits on top, but that’s probably my only real criticism. Once you accept that it’s more of a full entertainment experience rather than “just bowling”, you can see where the value comes from. One of the best parts of the venue is the arcade area. The kids absolutely loved it. There’s a really good variety of machines and games, enough to keep everyone entertained before and after bowling. It gives the place much more of a complete night-out feel rather than simply turning up for one game and leaving. The atmosphere was lively without feeling overwhelming, and it works really well for families, birthday outings or even just a casual evening out. Staff seemed friendly and helpful, and overall the whole venue felt modern and well managed. Reviews online also regularly praise the cleanliness, family atmosphere and arcade experience, which matched what we experienced ourselves. If you’re looking for somewhere in the Medway area for a fun evening with the kids, I’d definitely recommend giving it a try. Yes, bowling prices are a little high, but as an overall experience, Hollywood Bowl Rochester delivers a really good family night out with a clean environment, great entertainment and an arcade that kids genuinely love.

I have to admit my experience is based on prebooking tickets.And this seem to make the whole experience go even that much smoother. When we got in, it seemed like we walked straight to our lanes, and because we had pre booked enter the names of those of us who were going and whether we wanted guard rails or not. Everything just was automatic, so we didn't need to waste anytime Whatsoever. It was a very good bowling experience, so nothing to complain about. I loved the touch of having the miles per hour bowl, which i've never seen before but that's just me, but then I don't go bowling All the time. Food was good and very tasty. It did take a bit of time to arrive, though we sat in the diner area but it was good. Oh, staff were extremely friendly, extremely helpful. Went above and beyond. I think the true experience there is with the staff. The staff were really great.
