Had to stop in Merritt for dinner on our travels through and wasn’t disappointed. Very friendly staff and tasted like a home cooked meal! I’m not one to get meatloaf, but it was amazing. Oh and can’t forget the pie, absolutely delicious (recommend asking for it to be warmed up extra good if you’re getting ice cream, we had apple)! Passing through the town of Merritt and Home restaurant has always been a reliable choice. This trip we had a puppy with us so we chose the patio. Unlike other patios, please note that this is NOT table service. It is ordering take out and eating at a picnic table. There are 2 umbrellas for shade but approximately 7 tables. Recommend ordering ahead if you do this as it took about 30 mins for the food. Unfortunately this was not the best visit. The fries were mushy, the bacon was overcooked, there was an over abundance of mayo on all sandwiches and the caesar salad was not flavourful, lacking enough dressing. The tater tots were the highlight of the meal today. The garbage was full so we had to take ours inside to be disposed of. There was also no soap in the women's washroom. The staff is friendly and quite helpful. As soon as they were alerted to these issues, they were taken care of immediately. Please note that this visit is not the norm for Home as we have eaten inside many times and had great meals and service in the past both at Merritt and Hope locations. Food: 3 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3 Meal type: Lunch Price per person: CA$20–30 Vegetarian options: They have salads. Menu is online for viewing other options. Dietary restrictions: They have gluten free buns. Parking space: Plenty of parking Parking options: Free parking lot Wheelchair accessibility: There is a ramp to access restaurant and there is a spacious wheelchair washroom.
