I was really looking forward to trying Mascalzone after a few friends told me the pasta was amazing. We started with the homemade lemonade, which was excellent. For starters, we had the bruschetta and garlic pizza bread. They were both nice enough, but nothing that really stood out. For our mains, we ordered three pasta dishes and a portion of fries. Only two of the pasta dishes came out at first because earlier the waitress had asked if we were sharing, and my friend must have accidentally agreed, thinking she'd ordered two for herself... she was clearly more focused on her stomach than the conversation! So I can completely understand how the mix-up happened, and it wasn't really anyone's fault. As soon as we mentioned it to another waiter, he sorted it straight away, and the waitress came over to explain what had happened. The service throughout was friendly and professional. When my pasta finally arrived, it was good, but if I'm honest, it just didn't have the wow factor I'd been expecting. It certainly wasn't bad, but it didn't leave me wanting to rush back. Overall, I had a good experience. Great service, excellent homemade lemonade, and decent food. It just didn't quite tickle my belly the way I'd hoped.
