Ended up here after the other Indian down a few doors down had a 25 minute wait. Should've done that. Four diners in total, at 6pm on a Saturday. Stank of turps. Food was terrible barring the starter. Beer wasn't draft, just big bottles of cobra. Naan bread was vile. Chips burnt. Madras tasteless. Service horrendous. 80 quid for two of us. Never again. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

Absolutely shocking! Tandoori chicken wasn't even cooked properly, tandoori supposed to arrive sizzling, this looked like it had just been pasted. Curry sauce was tasteless and the naan bread looked like an omelette. So bland I can't put it into words. I don't know how this establishment stays open. Used to be the place to go but not any more. Will I return?....I think not! Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

It's well known in the curry game that the word of I, Buffer Chesterfield, can make or break a curry business. That's because I'm an officially licenced curry connoisseur and a bigger fish in food critique than the cats from the black tops. That being said, I was surprised to find Indian Delight in Liverpool has such a mediocre rating on Google Reviews. I went with my right hand man, Bubba Steeds, as part of Buffer & Bubba's Big Curry Weekender, July 2025. We ordered a selection from the menu and compliments to the chef! The stand out dishes were the tarka dhal, lamb tikka jalfrezi and the chicken tikka dopiaza. The peshwari naan was hand made and baked to superb results. Let's start with the jalfrezi. Now this jalfrezi was no 'jal-crazy' because it was medium spiced to perfection, the heat coming from the finger chili; as it is supposed to on a westernised version of the dish. The dopiaza wasn't bombarded with onion, despite the dish being onion two-ways. Just enough onion to perform against the top gaffs in Leicester. Now, Uncle Buffer gets the measure of an Indian establishment by the tarka dal. And Indian Delight, Liverpool, know how to make this starter well. Spiced just under medium, and not too heavy on the dhal to prevent filling up before the introduction of the piece d'resistance! Overall. An excellent traditional and authentic 'old school' curry house which will not disappoint. Ignore the Google rating. This place has the Buffer Chesterfield Gold Seal of Approval! It's good scran, as the Scousers may say. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
