No cóż, pizza zdecydowanie inna, niż w klasycznej pizzerii, wybraliśmy te w stylu londyńskim. Pizza classic była kompletnie mdła i bez smaku, picante niewiele lepsza, bez wyczuwalnego smaku mięsa. Obie tłuste, ciężkie, nie trafiły w nasz gust. Pani obsługująca posadziła nas w najgłośniejszym miejscu dużej sali, a gdy chcieliśmy spokojniejszy stolik koło witryny, przesadziła nas z łaską. Ogólnie posiłek i klimat nas zawiodły i nic w tym miejscu nas nie urzekło. Food: 3 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3 Meal type: Lunch Price per person: £20–30

Japes Greenwich has quickly become my favourite restaurant in London. I find Greenwich much more peaceful than central London, and the restaurant itself has such a warm, welcoming, and homely atmosphere. Up until my most recent visit, I had been blown away by the kindness and hospitality of everyone at Japes. Unfortunately, this visit left me feeling quite disappointed. I brought a couple of cans of soda that I had at home, something I’ve done at various restaurants around the UK without issue. An older gentleman, who appeared to be the manager, told me to put them away. I completely understand that restaurants may have policies against customers bringing in outside drinks, but the way it was communicated came across as quite condescending, which left me feeling uncomfortable and confused. What made it particularly disappointing was that, as someone who has visited several times and recommended Japes to numerous friends and family, I couldn’t help but feel that building goodwill with loyal customers is far more valuable in the long run than insisting on the sale of a couple of cans of soft drink. The policy itself wasn’t what bothered me most - it was how insignificant the issue felt compared with the positive relationship I’d had with the restaurant until then. It’s a real shame because this single interaction overshadowed what has otherwise always been a fantastic experience. I’ve visited Japes several times and have recommended it to numerous friends and family because I genuinely love the food and the atmosphere. I sincerely hope this was just an off day, as I’d love for future visits to reflect the warmth and hospitality that made me a regular in the first place. Staff were very friendly, and food was made very quickly. The deep dish (Chicago style) pizza was fantastic, tasted very fresh and was cooked to perfection. Toppings on the pizza were generous and portion size was more than enough. Could probably share one of the deep dishes between 2 people. But also great to take leftovers home. If you're in Greenwich and fancy a pizza, this is the place to go. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £20–30
