Our 2nd time visiting, first time was around a year ago. Firstly, I have to say I’m completely shocked at the reviews commenting on service. The staff are the best thing about Kitten in our experience. Literally everyone we came across both times, around 4 different members of staff, were absolutely lovely and very accommodating. We did go on the 50% off days, at opening time so before it was super busy so perhaps the service experience differs when it’s a full house. No complaints from us on service in our experience. The food was a mixed bag this time, couple of things were delicious such as the steak, potatoes and the hibiscus sour cocktail is SO good. The tempura calamari had great flavours but way too chewy, as was the tempura chicken. The menu and 50% offer is great for trying new and different things though. Dessert wise, I feel that’s where they miss the mark. The concepts sound great but they just didn’t deliver for us. The cheesecake was just ok, the Lemon ice cream that came with it was nice though but the Devil Wears Prada matcha tiramisu was inedible, the raw matcha powder first and then inside it tasted. off. Just not for us at all. We would definitely go back and try some more new things and the have the steak again. Music selection and volume levels were perfect when we were there. Really hope management can take the feedback from the reviews on board and turn things around as it’s a great place and Manchester hospitality is really struggling currently.
