My last two experiences here were not great. Last time we went, my wife ordered an omelet, but due to dietary restrictions she could only order the omelet but not the sides. So we asked for a substitute and they only offered things we would have to pay more for. Everywhere else offers substitutes for dietary restrictions so we paid near $20 for a small, 2 egg omelet. I wasnt going to return after that but I decided to give a second chance. We went for breakfast today for my 43rd birthday. We arrived at 10:54 and their breakfast menu ends at 11:00. We ended up having to wait 5 minutes for them to clear a table and then we sat down at 11:02. I asked for the breakfast menu and the same blonde waitress that refused to offer substitutes last time firmly stated they would not be giving us the breakfast menu. I tried to plead with her to no avail. We paid for our juices and left. She was okay with us just leaving instead of doing the right thing. Going the extra mile sometimes will give you repeat business. Today at the cash register, the owner tried to make it right by offering the breakfast menu but we had already been there for 25 minutes. She said she has "new trainees", but just to be clear, it wasnt the new girl that did this, it was the experienced one and the new girl was just along for the ride. Hopefully the new girl doesnt adopt the same snooty bad attitude that I got from her experienced coworker. I gave 2 stars instead of 1, because the owner tried to make it right. I wanted to try something new and local this weekend, Kaley's Restaurant definitely hit the spot! We had the Friday Fish special. The haddock portions were large, thick with a nice batter, cooked perfectly! The meal came with fresh fries, cole slaw, bun, and as a nice bonus was the most delicious strawberry cake I've ever had. It's so nice to get a dessert with your meal! The servers were very kind and boxed up my take out order so I could easily drop off a meal for my mom, I didn't even have to ask they just did it because I casually mentioned it when ordering on the phone. Excellent experience, we will certainly order again. Watch out small town on the lake, there's a new fish dinner in the county!
