Kamal’s Kitchen is hands down one of the best Nepalese dining experiences I’ve had in Reading. From the moment you walk in, you’re welcomed with genuine warmth that immediately sets the tone for what’s to come. The food is exceptional - rich in flavour, beautifully balanced, and clearly made with authenticity in mind. The momo are an absolute standout: perfectly cooked, juicy, and packed with flavour. Every dish feels like it’s been prepared with real care and traditional expertise, not rushed or commercialised. A special mention has to go to their Nanglo Dish - an incredible mix of authentic Nepalese food that truly showcases the depth and variety of the cuisine. It’s the perfect option if you want to experience a bit of everything, and each element on the plate is executed to a high standard. What truly sets Kamal’s Kitchen apart is the consistency and attention to detail. The spices are spot on, the portions are generous, and everything arrives fresh and well-presented. You can tell this is proper Nepalese cooking, not a watered-down version. Service is just as impressive - friendly, attentive, and genuinely passionate about the food they serve. It makes the whole experience feel personal rather than transactional. If you’re looking for authentic Nepalese cuisine that delivers on every level - taste, service, and atmosphere - Kamal’s Kitchen is a must visit. I’ll definitely be coming back again and again. The highlight is definitely the momos (dumplings)—fresh, juicy, and full of flavour. Other dishes like chow mein, thukpa, and choila are also very popular and taste close to traditional Nepali cooking. The staff are friendly and welcoming, which adds to the homely feel. Service is usually quick, though it can get busy during peak hours because the place is quite small. Prices are reasonable, and portions are generous, making it great value for money. ****Please note that the photo doesn’t do the food justice***** I phoned through my order, not really knowing what I wanted and Kamal’s kitchen chose an amazing selection of food that catered to my gluten-free diet.
