10 out 10 .. Walked past several times and said we would try . Finally walked in . Rear has a seating area . Waitress was such a pleasure to be served by really confident and polite and made sure everything was A1 . Food was lovely and good value . Will definitely use again when in the area . Price per person: £10–20 Recommended dishes: Fish and Chips, Cod

Kings Restaurant in Rayleigh is one of the better fish and chip shops/restaurants in the Rayleigh area.PROS: Most if not all of the take away fish and chips are cooked while you wait so you know it's fresh. I have eaten in the restaurant a few times and it is clean and reasonably priced with good portions.CONS: Battered fish can sometimes be dripping with oil as on occasion it is taken from frier straight to the wrapper without allowing it to drain for a couple of minutes. I ended up oil all over the seat of my car once.
