Not good value, but good atmosphere. Lunch special seafood linguine with a cola came to $55, and it wasn't remarkable. For that price for noodles, I can get 2 premium pho over on Yonge Street that's way more memorable. Price per person: $50–60

I would give this "restaurant" zero stars if I could. You should avoid it like the plague. I ordered a personal pizza. I wanted a vegetable pizza but the closest thing on the menu was a margherita pizza. The waitress said she could add some mushrooms to align it more with what I actually wanted. When the pizza arrived it was small even by personal pizza standards and the taste was bland. My friend ordered ravioli and was offered a glass of water, with the choice of tap or sparkling. He ordered the sparkling water assuming it was just carbonated with no special charge. When his meal arrived it was tiny, consisting of about ten ravioli. It didn't come even close to filling the appetizer-sized plate on which it was served. If that wasn't enough, it was also cold and tasteless. THEN we received the bills. My friend was charged $9!!! for the sparkling water; $26 for the tiny plate of pasta. With a Mole Cola, tax, and tip his total bill topped $50! Meanwhile, I was stunned to discover that the few slices of mushrooms added to my pizza carried a charge: $7!! There is no way that clearly arbitrary amount can be justified. I had never been warned there would be a charge even though the waitress could easily have mentioned it, and the casual way in which she offered it certainly made the addition sound as though it was free. I have eaten in many Italian restaurants in my life but never have I felt so cheated. We left frustrated and very angry. The terrible quality and portion sizes of the food, the lack of transparency on extra charges, and the outrageous prices made us feel like suckers. Reputable businesses make a reasonable profit. Sadly, there are others that gouge their customers for all they can, taking as much as they can and giving as little in return. There are plenty of other restaurants out there. STAY AWAY from this one. Food: 1 Service: 1

We visited Eataly (La Piazza) for their Easter brunch with a reservation for 4, and overall had a mixed experience. On the positive side, they were very accommodating when a friend joined last minute and were able to adjust our table to seat 5, which we really appreciated. The food itself was a great. I had an avocado toast (photo attached) that was pretty good, but the lime was extremely dry. The tiramisu pancakes, however, were a standout and absolutely delicious. Unfortunately, the service did not match the quality of the food. Our initial server began taking our order but stopped midway through and we waited a bit until another server took over, which made things feel a bit disorganized. When we placed our order, 3 of us chose the prix fixe menu and 2 ordered from the regular menu. There were a few frustrating inconsistencies. My partner asked to substitute the drip coffee included in the prix fixe menu for tea and was told no without much explanation. One of our party ordered a prosecco, which was oddly served in a standard wine glass. When drinks arrived, one coffee came as an Americano even though everyone had ordered drip coffee, and we were then told drip coffee was only available with the prix fixe menu and not from the regular menu, which added to the confusion. Despite having it swapped for drip coffee after asking the server, my friend was still charged for the Americano. Service felt really awkward at times. When our coffee was brought out, the servers seemed visibly uncomfortable, and one even commented “I hate doing this” while placing the mug on the table, holding it by the rim where our mouths would go, which didn’t feel very professional. Overall, great food but disappointing and inconsistent service, especially for a special occasion like Easter brunch. Meal type: Brunch Price per person: CA$50–60 Food: 4 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 3
