I can easily assure that La Roux Patisserie is probably one of the best bakeries in Victoria (or even in BC). As a french citizen, my expectations were high, and the quality of the pastry I had was over the top.The atmosphere in the boutique is very serene, comfy and tidy, and the people working here are holding it in a very professional and friendly way. Here you can have the classic experience of the croissant or you can treat yourself with some innovative pastry creations that look extremely original, professional and prepared with a lot of care. I was pretty amazed by the level of creativity! Well done. I can only highly recommend La Roux Patisserie, truly an incontournable of Victoria. Stopped in when we seen the awesome pastries. We took the time to have a coffee and an almond crossaint. It was the best flavor and by far one of the best we have ever tasted. While sitting in the shop. The owner stopped and asked us how everything was. This is for us is a rare thing to happen. It was nice to meet the owner. Genuinely taking the time to talk to his customers. We will definitely stop back when we come back to the area.

First time customer, disappointed. I ordered a cake for my husbands birthday, I selected the pumpkin spice cake (one of his favorite flavours) and was surprised they had this great flavour available all year. How exciting. It's also hard to find a bakery in town that is open on a Monday, and this one seemed to have good Google reviews. I didnt provide any special instructions, the cake decor on the website looked fine. So I was surprised the cake came with fresh flowers (carnations) ontop. I learned later that the sap from carnations can be mildly toxic - so I'm not sure why that decision was made tbh. The individual at the counter informed me to ensure the cake is served at room temp to allow the buttercream to have its best texture and flavor, which I appreciated. The thing I can't get over was how dry the cake sponge was. I honestly couldn't finish my piece. Im quite disappointed considering how much I spent on this small cake, the quality should be top notch. The buttercream flavor was good and did taste like pumpkin spice, and the cake was beautifully decorated. But I've never had such a dry cake before. Hope they can improve.
