Myself and two other friends came to this pub yesterday afternoon to enjoy a beer. The pub was empty save for a group of rowdy men, who proceeded to take the free table next to us in an otherwise completely empty pub. Many of these men made sexual or harassing comments towards us, to such a degree that we moved places three times to get away from them. The bar staff watched this behaviour and did nothing. When we moved to a table near an open door to get some fresh air (we had previously been next to a fan but had to move due to the aggressive behaviour of the men), the bar staff then came to tell us they had to close the doors or the boys would “kick off”. It was very clear that these men were trying to sweat us out of the pub or back over to the fan. Having been in such close proximity with these people, the bar staff had full view of these goings on and still did nothing except cater to the ridiculous demands of these ruffians, driving us out of the pub and feeling sick to our stomachs at the verbal harassment and leering glares we received. Disappointing is an understatement. We felt threatened and undervalued as customers. The pub should be inclusive for all and if such is not the case, please, in future, make it clear that the establishment is not safe for women if the primary clients are rough-housing men calling the shots like they own the place. Not safe for women. Me and my friends were harassed by a group of rowdy men, with the owners doing absolutely nothing to help, despite us being sat in front of the bar. They sat next to us in a completely empty pub, positioning their chairs so it was harder for us to get out of our booth table. Then, proceeded to make disgusting comments of a sexual nature at us until we eventually moved to escape. Once we’d moved, sitting next to a door for fresh air, the bar staff came and closed the door saying ‘sorry girls, the lads will kick off if we don’t close them’. I’m assuming this is because they wanted us to sit next to them again, and they thought closing the door would mean we’d come back as there was a fan there. If anything I feel bad for the bar staff. All female when we were there and the male patrons spoke to them like shit, too. If the bar staff don’t want to confront poorly behaved male patrons, I totally understand, but then get a bouncer. Many pubs have them. It’s simply not acceptable than in the year 2026 women are so clearly, viscously unwelcome in a pub for one drink on a summers day. Disappointing and sad. Great atmosphere everyone was so friendly staff very welcoming was served by Holly she was great. Place was clean and music was good. Prices were decent Too. I’m a new regular now cheers Steve and the Lambettes
