*November 2025* For £9.10, the cod and chips are decent but not out of this world amazing. They do accept card payments, despite older reviews saying otherwise, there’s a £3 minimum tho. The service is pretty standard, not overly friendly, but definitely not bad. The chips were a mixed bag, some were abit too hard, some were way too undercooked and some had loads of vinegar overspray. The cod itself was fine, though the batter was a bit greasy and lacking in flavor. Overall, it’s decent but could use some improvements. Meal type: Lunch Price per person: £1–10 Food: 3 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 3

Always excellent food and service from a ‘classic’ chippy and very reasonably priced. We know times are tough at the moment for chip shop owners so we always make an effort to support this great couple. The community appreciates their efforts. Always nice fish and chips, service quick and nice people. Tried elsewhere nearby recently and it did not compare, the lancastrian is far better and cheaper! Had family try too and they agreed fish is best they have had. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £1–10
