Just wow. Amazing food, great service. One of the best meals I've had. Our table ordered the duck, pork, steak and fish entrees and everyone raved out their dishes. And the desserts! The mousse and pistachio creme de brulee were the standouts. Great wine list-- we ordered an excellent Chateau Pape de Neuf. Can't gush about this restaurant enough! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Price per person: $90–100 Wheelchair accessibility: My mother is in a wheelchair and had no issues coming in or out of the restaurant. No bathroom accessibility as it is down stairs.

We know about the accessibility, but Le Baratin being in a old building, there is not so much we can do for the bathroom access located in the basement. Nonetheless we hope to see again for more "amazing food". Le Baratin team.

Le Baratin is one of those restaurants that reminds you why it's worth venturing beyond the city's bigger, trendier spots. The restaurant is small and intimate, with tables fairly close together, but that's exactly what gives it so much charm. It feels cozy, welcoming, and honestly like the perfect place for a date night. From the moment we arrived, the service was fantastic. Everyone was warm, attentive, and made the whole evening feel relaxed without ever rushing us through our meal. Our favourite entrées were easily the Duck Confit and the Steak-Frites. The duck had beautifully crispy skin while staying incredibly tender inside, and the steak was cooked perfectly with a rich shallot sauce that complemented it without overpowering it. The Poisson du Jour during our visit was trout served in a silky lobster bisque and topped with caviar. Since the fish changes regularly, it's one of those dishes that gives you a reason to come back and try something new. To start, we shared the Moules Gratinées, Assiette de Charcuterie, and the Tarte Niçoise. We especially enjoyed the mussels once we added the herb sauce on the side and a squeeze of fresh lemon. Together they completely elevated the dish and brought all the flavours to life. The only small note we'd make is that we wished the puff pastry on the tart had been just a little crispier. Dessert completely stole the show. The Vacherin au Citron with crisp meringue, lemon ice cream, frozen raspberries, and lemon caramel was honestly one of the best desserts we've had in a long time. We'd genuinely come back just for that dessert. We also really enjoyed the chocolate mousse and the Basque cheesecake. We paired dinner with an Espresso Martini and a Negroni, both of which were excellent. Between the thoughtful food, wonderful service, and cozy atmosphere, Le Baratin feels like one of Toronto's hidden gems. If you're looking for an intimate French restaurant for your next date night, we'd absolutely recommend putting this one on your list. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
