Criminally understaffed, causing long wait times for service at no fault of the hard-working employees. I am disabled and struggle with standing for long periods while waiting, so this is especially difficult for me. I eat here almost every day I’m at work because it’s the closest option to my office and walking long distances is difficult for me. I’m gluten intolerant so tend to avoid eating gluten when possible, making soup the only viable option here. Therefore, I have become an expert on the soups served. Most of them are fairly nice. HOWEVER do not EVER get their tomato basil soup. It is absolutely vile. Some days I have gone without food entirely instead of eating this. The dried basil sticks in your throat and is bitter.. plus, the flour they use to thicken it isn’t integrated well and often forms large globby congealed chunks. Sometimes there are so many chunks the soup is entirely inedible. You can ask for a new bowl but I’m guessing they just give it a good blend because it doesn’t solve the issue entirely, there are still small chunks. So, so disgusting. Their other soups are nice enough though. I like their vegan bean and veg soup best, but I’ve only seen them serving that once. MANY days, it is nothing but tomato basil. I really hope they stop serving it eventually because it’s so awful. Meal type: Lunch Price per person: £1–10 Food: 2 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 2 Dietary restrictions: no gluten free options available. soup has least amount of gluten, but they do not show ingredient lists so impossible to know when they are actually GF or thickened with wheat flour.

I came first thing in the morning and they didn't have any vegan options. Doesn't seem busy either. Staff always look confused when asked about vegan options. The only time I managed to get a vegan option (vegan cheese toastie), the staff held it with his bare finger right after handling cash. They scratched themselves, with the cheese still in their other hand. The atmosphere could be nice but the neon lights make me feel ill and the tables are always grubby. The coffee is alright. The staff is always nice though so I think it's more likely a lack of training. Edit later: just had to bin a vegan sausage roll because it tasted like rotten fish. I'm actually worried about the safety standards of the place now Food: 1 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 3
