At first, my life was adrift — a bleak, flavourless stretch of existence, punctuated only by soggy chips and disappointments. But then I found Lotus Fish Bar. From the moment I stepped inside, everything changed. The golden crunch of their freshly battered cod, the perfect fluffiness of the chips, the aroma of salt and vinegar hanging lovingly in the air — it was like being welcomed home after a lifetime away. There’s something transcendent about the way they fry here. The batter sings. The chips don’t just satisfy, they comfort. Even the mushy peas feel like they’ve been made with quiet reverence. The staff are warm, quick, and somehow remember your order after one visit — like old friends you never knew you had. But what really made my visit special was the service. The owner’s son, Justin, was helping out, and he was just so friendly and kind. He took a moment to chat with me and made sure everything was just right — the food was hot, the order was spot on, and he even offered to name a menu item after me as a joke. It’s not often you see someone so young be so thoughtful and polite. Justin made me feel welcome, and more than a simple customer. Lotus Fish Bar didn’t just serve me dinner.
