11/10 experience at Lyla! From start to finish, everything was incredible. The service was amazing — our server Belles was so sweet and attentive, and was able to help us choose our dishes ahead of time since everything on the new menu looked incredible. The partner of Lyla also came by our table to introduce himself and check in on us, which was such a thoughtful personal touch. The new menu is absolutely incredible. I had the risotto along with the lavender zero-proof sparkling, and my boyfriend had the lobster pasta — everything was delicious. We had such a wonderful experience and already can’t wait to go back! Definitely a new favourite for us. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Meal type: Dinner

Lyla Toronto recently has a new chef and used to work for Osteria Giulia and Sammerco. They have a la carte menu and 4 courses prefix menu. We ordered one prefix menu, petit seafood platter, uni spaghetti, brussel sprouts with anchovies, and bread pudding. The 4 courses menu comes with the beef tarter, mushroom risotto, Japanese madai filet, and finished off with bread pudding. All the courses gave me surprise. I cannot say it has WOW factor, but generally it is very good for the price point. Also for the dessert, the bread pudding is the best in Toronto. Now comes with cons tonight. No oysters for seafood platter, but the waiter is very nice to offer extra portion of blue fin tuna tartar, we are happy for the substitution. The worst course is the uni spaghetti. The reason I came here for dinner is the uni spaghetti, and I must say it is not what I expected! The spaghetti is like udon, very chewy. The uni cream sauce cannot fix well with the spaghetti. I must say mix review for me. I recommended the prefix menu, it cannot go wrong. The chef put the best of everything in this menu. Food: 3 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4
