We’re obviously disappointed to hear that you did not enjoy your New York Reuben sandwich, which you ordered at 9:39am this morning.I understand that the young man who served you explained that, unfortunately, we had not yet received our morning delivery of pretzel buns and therefore offered you granary bread as an alternative. While we appreciate that this was not the ideal bread for a Reuben, you agreed to the alternative.All of our sandwiches are prepared fresh to order, rather than being made in advance. This does mean that they can take a little time to prepare, particularly as we melt the cheese fresh as part of the preparation. We’re sorry if you felt the service was too slow, but we hope you can appreciate that we want to serve a freshly prepared sandwich rather than one that has been sitting ready.We also prepare our own salt beef in-house, and we are pleased that you enjoyed the beef itself. We’re sorry, however, that the overall sandwich did not meet your expectations. The granary bread was not the intended bread for the Reuben and, particularly if the sandwich was eaten some time after it was collected, this may have contributed to it becoming soggy.We do take your comments on board and hope you might give us another opportunity in the future, when we can serve you our New York Reuben as intended, on a fresh pretzel bun.
