My boyfriend and I came here today with our dog and enjoyed a lunch of chicken Kathi rolls, lemonade and mango lassi outside. We were kindly sat in the shade and we were all looked after and comfortable, the staff were very kind. We've visited Mandira's for some years and every experience has been enjoyable. We've also tried the chutney and frozen foods and always been impressed. It's a great spot to rest during a long walk! ️ The views are stunning too! I am writing this review with a heavy heart after a very disappointing weekend visit to Mandira's Kitchen.

We went for a family birthday on a beautiful summer day. The setting is picture perfect, the service was friendly and fairly efficient. Drinks were served swiftly, including a homemade lemonade that is really very good. After this warm welcome and all the wonderful reviews we were looking forward to a special and delicious meal.

Then the food arrived and with it a large side dish of disappointment. The weekend Thali was exactly that - it seemed like all the leftovers from the past week were scraped together and arranged in a few bowls on a tray. The rice was ok, but what was served as a chicken curry was unacceptable. We were aware that the chicken would come on the bone, which is fine, but one would expect a drumstick or a wing - something with some actual meat on. What we were served was bits of chicken carcass that were fit for the stockpot but could not pass as an actual meal - there was no meat, just bone. All this was served along a leathery cold chapati that had seen better days...a long time ago... and for £30.00 this dish is obscenely overpriced. The Samosas were soggy and cold, the puffed rice in the Puri was stale and what was described on the menu as a "Roll with a Soul" turned out to be a cheap supermarket roll that had been reheated to a crisp and had a bit of Ghee brushed on to hide the fact that this food item was way past it's saleable state.

I really wish I could say something more positive, but unfortunately in this case this is not possible. A big disappointment, style over substance with a grossly inflated price tag. My recommendation: Enjoy the scenery on a walk, stop for a Gin at Silent Pool or a glass of Wine at the Vineyard both next door to Mandira's Kitchen, but take a picnic, or eat elsewhere.
