I have visited The Marton Arms on several occasions over the past and never been disappointed with the food, today was no exception. My wife and I had the beer battered haddock with crashed peas, chips and tartar sauce. Delicious, the battery was thin and crispy and the haddock was perfectly cooked. Our friends chose different dishes, one had the pork cutlet and the other the garden pea and broad bean risotto as a main (available as a starter). They were equally impressed. Staff were friendly and cheerful, we have always found this to be the case. Room for improvement.....it was a Thursday and not busy however once we had finished our mains our empty plates weren't removed from our table for approximately 20 minutes. The gents toilets were clean however the toilet seat was cracked. I have a theory, unproven, that the standards in an establishment's bathrooms reflect the standards in their kitchens. My wife and I will have no hesitation in visiting again, a few small improvements would result in a 5 star rating from me next time
