I visited Masalaz Restaurant in Edmonton recently with friends and our baby, and unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience. After being seated, we had to wait several minutes before anyone came to take our order. We ordered the fish fry meal for dine-in, but it took almost an hour to arrive. For a meal priced at $27.99, I expected much better. The fish lacked flavor and didn't feel worth the price. While waiting, we ordered two snacks and tea as appetizers. Since my baby started crying, my friend and I stepped outside for a few minutes, leaving our baby's car seat at the table. Despite this, the owner or manager seemed to assume we were leaving without paying and scolded the front-of-house staff for not collecting our payment first. That felt unnecessary and unprofessional. What made the experience even worse was the atmosphere. We witnessed the owner/manager arguing with another customer over a complaint. Even after realizing the mistake was on the restaurant's side, the apology felt dismissive. Staff were also being scolded loudly in front of customers, and we could constantly hear yelling coming from the kitchen. It didn't make for a pleasant or relaxing dining experience. Overall, the long wait, underwhelming food, and unprofessional customer service left a poor impression. Unfortunately, I won't be returning. Meal type: Lunch Price per person: CA$20–30

Always a delight Ordered fried fish mean with veg substitute instead and got a nice flavourful selection. Meal type: Lunch Food: 5

Masalaz never disappointed us in serving different tastes of kerala with the same quality. Our all time go to food spot in Edmonton. Also the Vishu sadhya prepared for @Ahimsa today was super delicious. Thank you for the serving all of us in every possible way you can! Meal type: Lunch Price per person: CA$1–10
