A hidden gem in Richmond serving authentic Japanese food, set in a modern restaurant. Its about 8 minutes walk from Richmond tube. The bento boxes at lunch was super yummy, every bit was eaten! The chicken teriyaki was spot on with seasoning and not too sweet. Very good quality too. It was so good, we also had dinner there. Tempura udon was perfect, with the dashi broth and super crispy tempura. Its not rice flour but good panko, with an additional "crushed corn flake" crust. The tempura roll was good too. The genmaicha was fragrant and perfect for the meal. So good that I bought some when I got home. Service was attentive and fun. All the front of house staff was fantastic, making us so welcome which enhanced the experience of our relaxed meals. Note that all staff spoke Japanese and some patrons too. I will definitely be back to Matsuba next time I am in London. A perfect 5 Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £30–40 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

100% best Japanese restaurant in town! Service is exceptional, friendly and the whole environment is super cozy. The food is delicious, we tried the bibimbap, matsuba roll, gyoza and mochi to finish, all tasted soo good. Definitely coming back and thanks to the whole team for the 5 star experience!
