Service & great value for money
The cake that arrived was not the one I selected and it was not in pink. It was too late to change or buy a new one and I was upset as it was supposed to be the centre piece of the event. However, what shocked me more was when I rang the shop the day after to let them know this happened, the person speaking immediately started arguing and shouting at me for ordering though WhatsApp. They said 'I don't use WhatsApp much so I didn't bother reading your message to be honest. You should have bothered to come in to the shop and not expect me to send messages back and forth'.
I was so shocked to experience this rudeness! I asked them what kind of customer service this is and that they should have just said they don't take orders through WhatsApp if they don't have time and won't follow simple requests.
Another thing that disappointed me during this process - I asked for the writing to be italic or neat and I was told no. I feel like this was such an easy request and as they claim to offer a personalised service, this shouldn't be an issue ! They have done neat writing for me in the past upon request, I do not understand why it was a problem this time.
In conclusion, I feel that Simply Steve's need to work on their customer service, especially friendliness/politeness . I have never had problems before and I have always been a fan, but unsure if I will order again after this experience . The person did eventually half heartedly apologise and promise a better experience next time.
