Best sandwich shop in the city. I’ve been coming here since it opened, back when Max was still working from the shop himself, and it’s been consistently brilliant. It’s hard to compare Max’s to anywhere else because they’ve really carved out their own lane. Proper trendsetters rather than somewhere following whatever’s popular at the time. The staff are always great, but honestly, the food does all the talking. Big flavours, great combinations and sandwiches you actually think about afterwards. Still one of my favourite places to eat in London. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Price per person: £20–30

Max's Sandwich Shop: Worth Every Mile of Air Turbulence! If you ever find yourself on a long-haul flight, staring down at your sad little tray of airplane food, remember that there's a light at the end of the travel tunnel: Max's Sandwich Shop. Long story short, yes, I’ve literally crossed continents just for a bite. Best. Sandwich. Ever. Bar. None.
