My wife and I visited The Maypole Inn at Thurloxton for lunch today and we thoroughly enjoyed our experience. I always order scampi wherever we go, so I consider myself quite the connoisseur, and I must say the scampi and chips here were absolutely top-tier! The scampi was perfectly golden, served with lovely thick-cut chips and a generous portion of peas. We followed up our mains with some fantastic desserts. I had a wonderfully rich and syrupy sticky toffee pudding, while my wife thoroughly enjoyed her beautifully presented raspberry sorbet and ice cream. A special mention must go to the staff (especially Sammii, who served us). They were absolutely excellent—so polite, friendly, and cheerful throughout our visit, which really added to the warm atmosphere. Finally, I want to highlight how wonderfully disabled-friendly the venue is. There is incredibly convenient parking right outside the door and excellent disabled facilities inside, making the whole visit entirely stress-free. Very sad lady, I was there and the place was positively buzzing, customers happy, service perfect and food amazing. This was one very angry Lady.
