Me and my fiance went there today for lunch. I understand it's a Saturday so it would be noisy that was not the issue was the food was bland and horrible no number on the table to be able to order food fast. I had to go ask what table the number was before ordering. (Fish and chips and the chicken tikka) They told us they had run out of salt so I wasn't able to put salt on my food, my partner has now come down with a bad case of food poisoning this evening from the chicken tikka. Very very upset and annoyed at how awful the whole time we spent there was! Price per person: £10–20 Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

We are very sorry you didn't enjoy your time with us.Unfortunately we were incredibly busy due to the champions league final taking place and we are very sorry we couldn't get you salt due to all of it being in use. The table number is an inconvenience i can understand, however, I do believe we were able to assist you with finding out what it was.I'm also sorry that your husband has presented with food poisoning. However, food poisoning does take 48 hours to set in and our tikkas come in pre cooked so its extremely unlikely you contracted food poisoning here.

Great Value Large Pub. Loads of parking. Dog friendly. Sunday Lunch was great for the price but I think more mash (very small scoop), less roast potatoes maybe & cauliflower cheese option would have been nice. Great beer prices & 2 pool tables. Good location walkable to Swindon town centre. We shall be back. Price per person: £100+ Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

The atmosphere was excellent, especially considering that this pub used to be rough in the past. They’ve done an amazing job of creating a cozy and authentic English vibe. The service was impeccable, and the food was incredibly affordable for the quality. However, if you’re looking for an exceptional dining experience, you might want to consider spending a bit more. The only reason I deducted a star is because the seasoning was a bit lacking, and our table was a bit dirty. But overall, you won’t be disappointed with The Merlin. Friends or family! .
