These are the best fish and chips and I love the fact they remove the yucky skin. It means I don't have to waste half the batter and let's face it, that's what it's all about! They cook the fish to perfection, unlike over 90% of places that overcook it so it's dry. Their chips are exactly how I remember them from my childhood but not as greasy! Over the last 20 years I've tried so many places not only in London, but Brighton, Cornwall, Swindon, Somerset, Newquay, Padstow (yes, even Rick Stein's) and many more but Mick's trumps them all. And even better it's my local. How lucky am I? My only complaint is that every year I am disappointed to see Mick's missing from the National Fish and Chip awards. Maybe 2026 is their year?! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 3 Order type: Takeaway Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £40–50 Kid-friendliness: My kids would eat fish and chips here every week if I let them. They also request it for their birthday dinner treat!

Mick's Fish Bar at 493 Latimer Road is a West London local treasure that brings the essence of traditional British grub right to our doorstep. Usually, I dove into their classic fish and chips, with a the that lovely steak and kidney pie. Let me tell you, it's like a taste of love. The fish, always fresh and flaky, wrapped in a golden, crispy batter that just oozes with flavour. And that pie! soul-warming, tender steak and kidney in a buttery pastry, perfect remedy for any chilly day in London. Weekends I'll grab "THE" quarter pounder and chips meal. Burger always juicy, charred to perfection, Chips of kings! Crisp on the outside, fluffy on the inside, standard it supposed to be, but rare to find a chippy with these chips. Mick's Fish Bar is also apart of the community, with really nice and friendly staff who've been serving up smiles and succulent meals for over 40 years. The place is always spotless. and you feel right at home from the moment you walk in, with the family vibes of the pace. Mick's Fish bar offers Proper quality, take-away at prices that everyone in the family can enjoy. If you want clean tasty grub, packed with West London nostalgia, head on down to Mick's Fish Bar. You won't be disappointed.
