I visited Monti Monaco with my work colleagues for a business lunch/dinner. It was positive that we were given a separate room, which made it easier to discuss business matters; however, the room was not fully closed off, so noise and activity from the rest of the restaurant were still noticeable. The food was good but unremarkable. I had a pasta dish that was correctly cooked al dente and served in a decent portion size. We also shared a few starters—mainly salads and vitello tonnato—which were fine but quite basic and did not stand out. Service was somewhat slow and inattentive. We ran out of wine several times, and no one came by to check whether we would like to order more. This felt like a missed opportunity, particularly in a business setting where attentive service and subtle upselling would be expected. One important side note: the bathroom had a very unpleasant smell, which significantly detracted from the overall experience and is something that should be addressed urgently. Overall, an acceptable option for a business meal due to the semi-private space, but the food, service, and facilities leave room for improvement.
