After 15+ years in Toronto, I found a Mumbai Chaat place that actually make Dahi BATATA Puri, with potatoes just like we enjoyed back home. Every othe place that I have been to, over the years, called it Dahi Puri & would put those small boondis. I was craving Dahi batata Puri today after work, and while waiting at the GO station, I decided to Google, 'Chaat' in Scarborough & as I browsed through the menus, I noticed Mumbai Express menu clearly advertising for Dahi Batata Puri. The owner Jagruti was very pleasant & courteous and being from amchi Mumbai herself, we had a wonderful conversation on Mumbai Chaat & Other things. The Dabeli was to go, but once my wifw took a bite, she decided that it was too good to leave for later, so we finished that one & ordered 3 to go! We also shared a Rose Falooda. There's some nice decor- typical Mumbai street talk on a board at the counter (see pic) You can bet we'll be back here again.
