I went there for a wake. All paid for by the relatives of the deceased. The patrons are leaving shortly, so without them it's difficult to assess the future quality of service. I used to eat Sunday lunch here in the past. You had to get here early if you were guaranteed something to eat. That's how good it was/ is. We had a relaxing afternoon in the garden, covering old ground and those we had not seen in ages. Despite the sadness of the occasion everyone was happy to see each other over a drink and a decent spread of eats. The service here was not a sombre affair and helped to lighten the burden. We shall be thinking of the dearly departed and of those who are leaving this pub/restaurant in the hands of the chain who owns the establishment.
