I had a very disappointing experience at Nolbu Sushi. My friend and I ordered a bottle of soju and the gopchang stew. While we were waiting for our food, the waitress brought us cutlery, serving dishes, and banchan. Unfortunately, we immediately noticed that our serving dishes were dirty and had to ask for clean ones. When the gopchang stew arrived and started boiling, we found a sticker inside the stew. This completely ruined our appetite. Although we had already opened our bottle of soju, we no longer felt comfortable eating there. It took about five minutes before a waitress came over. We showed her the sticker in the stew, but there was no sincere apology. She simply said they would remove the stew from the bill, but insisted on charging us for the bottle of soju. Since we no longer had any food to eat, we ended up finishing the soju with only kimchi, despite having nearly three-quarters of the bottle left. At $22 a bottle, it was frustrating to be expected to pay for it after our meal had been ruined by a food safety issue. Mistakes can happen in any restaurant, but what disappointed me most was how the situation was handled. A genuine apology and better customer service would have gone a long way.
