Super friendly little coffee shop - lovely oat chai latte! My children love the chocolates loaded with whipped cream and marshmallows! They can’t resist a jumbo hot dogs either - comes with a salad and portion of crisps. xx Meal type: Lunch Price per person: £10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Too expensive for the quality. The coffees aren't made to the standard that the price demands. The soya is constantly burnt and frothy, I do wonder if there was any barista training. Today's was also on the turn, so I question whether the soya milk is checked and binned regularly, or whether it's just because they boil the milk with the steam wand. Having worked professionally in cafes as a barista, it makes me sad as there's good potential as location is nice. Also the lack of allergy awareness is just staggering. I ordered a soya mocha previously and it tasted of dairy, I asked to check the chocolate powder as I was certain it contained it. I was told it didn't '.. But I'll check for you'. Turns out it did (galaxy hot chocolate normally does, plus I wasn't lying why would I..) and I got a shrug and I 'I didn't know.'. Bizarre way to treat an allergy, especially at it could have been really severe. Thankfully I just got a sore rash for a few days, but no applogy was made, just a remake of the drink with df chocolate and still charged. I can no longer return as I don't see the service or the quality improving Food: 2 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 2

Nook, Markyate is a delightful corner cafe right on the High Street. The coffee and cake are truly first-class, complemented by a unique and interesting menu. There is both indoor and outdoor seating available. While dedicated cycle parking is limited by its location, it’s easy enough to lock your bike to a nearby street sign—you can keep a close eye on it from either the window seats or the outside tables.
